Artist Johanna Turunen’s Open Guest Book Artwork
Artist Johanna Turunen has created a piece to which we hope all conference participants will add their names.
Johanna Turunen will be present to collect signatures during the conference registration on April 24th from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. It will also be possible to sign the artwork later during the conference.
Johanna Turunen is a visual artist from Joensuu. In her artistic work over recent years, she has explored the question: What is most important and dearest to me in life? Humanity and mortality have always been themes close to her heart.
In her art, she works with various materials, including many painting techniques, as well as screen printing, photography, and ceramics. In her latest works, she combines photography with dried flowers.
Turunen has had the opportunity to create several public artworks. Most of these are in Joensuu, but some can also be found in the Vuores district of Tampere and in Kontiolahti. He has taught visual arts since 1996 to both children and adults in various community colleges and schools. He is currently studying for a teaching qualification at JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä.
Violinists from the Joensuu Conservatory will perform at the beginning of both conference days
