10 Years of the Cultural Policy Research Yearbook: Impacts and Future Directions. Panel discussion (in Finnish). Afternoon coffee will be served.

In 2026, ten years will have passed since the publication of the first Cultural Policy Research Yearbook. To mark this anniversary, a panel discussion will be organised to examine the changes, impacts and future directions of cultural policy research over the past decade. What role has the yearbook played in making cultural policy research more visible and in shaping public debate? How can publishing activities strengthen the interaction between research and cultural policy decision-making?

The panel will also consider the new demands that the current cultural policy context places on research and scholarly publishing. In a time characterised by rapid changes, resource pressures and conflicting cultural policy objectives, there is an increasing need for pluralistic discussion and for research-based ways of making sense of the state of cultural policy in Finland. The panel invites reflection on how domestic scholarly publishing can continue to serve as a socially influential forum for discussion.

The panel will feature former editors-in-chief of the yearbook: Miikka Pyykkönen, Elisa Kraatari, Minna Ruusuvirta and Olli Jakonen. The discussion will be moderated by the current editors-in-chief, Aleksi Lohtaja and Vappu Renko.
